Topical ivermectin 1% cream (brand: Soolantra®) is an FDA-approved prescription cream for the inflammatory lesions of rosacea. It is also occasionally prescribed off-label for certain skin parasitic conditions. TexMed dispenses 30g tubes from our Texas pharmacy after pharmacist consultation.
Ivermectin has both anti-inflammatory and antiparasitic activity against Demodex folliculorum mites, which are implicated in papulopustular rosacea. Daily application has been shown in clinical trials to significantly reduce inflammatory lesion counts.
Most patients see meaningful improvement after 8–12 weeks of consistent nightly use. Continue treatment for the full course recommended by your pharmacist.
Mild burning, skin irritation, or dryness can occur in the first 1–2 weeks. Persistent or worsening reactions should be reported to your pharmacist.
