Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about the TexMed pharmacist consultation process.

About TexMed

Is TexMed a licensed pharmacy?

Yes. TexMed is a licensed Texas pharmacy registered with the Texas State Board of Pharmacy. All dispensing is performed by or under the direct supervision of a Texas-licensed pharmacist.

Is this legal under Texas law?

Yes. Texas Senate Bill 773 (effective September 2023) authorizes Texas pharmacists to dispense certain prescription medications, including ivermectin, under a physician standing order without requiring a patient-specific prescription for each dispensing event. TexMed operates entirely within this framework.

Do I need health insurance?

No. TexMed is cash-pay only. We do not bill insurance. HSA and FSA cards are accepted.

The Consultation Process

Do I need to see a doctor or have a video call?

No. The TexMed process is 100% asynchronous. You complete a secure online health questionnaire. A Texas-licensed pharmacist reviews it and makes the dispensing decision. No appointment, no video call, no waiting room.

How long does the pharmacist review take?

Most reviews are completed within one business day (Monday–Friday, 9am–6pm CT). You receive a notification in your secure portal when the review is complete.

What if the pharmacist declines my request?

If the pharmacist determines treatment is not clinically appropriate for you, the dispensing fee is refunded in full. You are only charged for what is dispensed and shipped.

Can I ask follow-up questions after my review?

Yes. Your consultation includes access to the secure patient portal where you can send follow-up questions to the pharmacist.

Products & Pricing

What ivermectin strengths do you carry?

We dispense compounded ivermectin capsules in 9mg, 12mg, 18mg, 30mg, and 45mg strengths; commercially manufactured 3mg tablets; a combination bundle with mebendazole 100mg; and topical ivermectin 1% cream (30g tube). All human-grade USP ivermectin — no veterinary formulations.

How much does it cost?

The pharmacist consultation is free — there is no consultation fee. Compounded capsules start at $3 each (strength-dependent). The 30-day cancer treatment bundle is $700 and the complete 90-day cancer treatment bundle is $1,800. No subscription fees, no recurring charges, and no hidden costs.

Do you accept HSA or FSA?

Yes. HSA and FSA debit cards are accepted at checkout. Prescription medications are typically an eligible HSA/FSA expense — confirm with your plan administrator.

Shipping & Delivery

Where do you ship?

TexMed ships only within the state of Texas to Texas residents. We do not ship outside Texas or internationally.

How is the medication packaged?

All shipments are packed in discreet, unmarked outer packaging. The pharmacy name appears on the pharmacy label inside, as required by Texas law.

How long does shipping take?

Approved orders are shipped within 1–2 business days via USPS with tracking. Most Texas deliveries arrive within 2–4 business days after shipment.

Safety & Privacy

Is my health information safe?

Yes. All questionnaire responses and portal messages are encrypted at rest and in transit. We follow HIPAA-aligned practices and do not sell your health or personal data to third parties.

Can I take ivermectin if I am pregnant?

No. Ivermectin is contraindicated during pregnancy. TexMed will not dispense ivermectin to pregnant patients. If you are pregnant and believe you have a parasitic infection, contact your OB/GYN immediately.

What if I'm already taking other medications?

Disclose all current medications in your questionnaire. Ivermectin may interact with warfarin, certain seizure medications, and other drugs. Your pharmacist screens for interactions as part of the review process.
